Evaluation:
I have learnt a lot throughout the duration of my production, i have learnt that there is alot of things that need to into selling and also making a film. I feel that i have done well, and i have got three good final results and i am happy with how all three of them have turned out, even though it was very stressful getting them all correct and up to the standard i wanted them to be.
My Thriller Film Trailer, turned into a task and i gave my audience a lot of preview to help me for my final ideas. They helped my from doing my posters, my ideas, my magazine front cover, and other things on my blog.
Firstly i was going to do a music video because i love music and i felt that i woul be able to express myself in my music video and show how capable i was, but i then decided against it after talking with my friends and my teacher i then decided to go ahead with a thriller trailer, i was very worried about this at first because i had never really done anything like this before, but after i got into it and had a few mess arounds with the whole idea, i started to enjoy it alot.
I feel that my film trailer is original to me because i was the one who made it and i came up with all the ideas and where it was going to be set and the lighting and everything else that had to be done to my Thriller trailer.
For my influence on a thriller trailer i looked up well known directers and directers of thriller films i like!, i looked at James Wan the directer of the film Saw, he influenced me a lot because his film is one of the most thrilling trailers i have ever seen and i liked how he did his work because he kept all of his audience on egde and with one eye open!
I feel that my work enages in the audience very well and i feel that a lot of people will be interested because its a thriller trailer and every one does love a bit of jump in their life at some point! and i feel that my thriller trailer is one that kind of puts you on egde and makes you actually want to watch the film and see what happens to them.
A lot of work went into my production before it all came together and thats good because you do need a lot of research and planning before you do a big piece of work like this, i did a lot of storyboards, i did a book with a few things in such as ideas, plots, sounds, mise-en-sence, and brainstorms, i found that this helped me put all my ideas down on sheets and not just kept in my head, i then could look at all the information i had and put then all together. To think of the story line i write lots of little storys and then asked my family and friends to read them all, and they liked the one i did first which was, 'Three children are going on a day out in the fields for a picnic, but they heard a noise coming from the barn, they decide to send one of them over and take a look, but after he shouts RUN, they all run for their lives towards the gate, out of the film, but do they survive? i think not?...' and i am pleased everyone chose this one because i did like this the first time i wrote it.
To film my Trailer, i used a digital camera, i then used a program on my computer at home to help me with all my editing, i actually did do about 20 minutes of filming and as you can see i did scrap alot of the work, the reason i did this was i wanted to film a lot of footage so i then had a lot of footage to work with when i was editing it, this showed me that a lot of work is actually put into a proper film and that made me think a lot about mine. The music that i used is just a clip i that found on the program i used to edit the filming, it was called 'Halloween' i loved it the first time i heard it and it just made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! and i think it went so well with the film trailer especially when there is breathing and its coming from the barn thats one of my best bits in the trailer!
To be honest, i didnt really like this task when i first heard we had to do it on a blog, because i had no idea how to use a blog and i was very worried, but when i started to use it and when i got into it i really enjoyed it. I have really learnt a lot from this experince of school work, and i feel that i have learnt that there is a lot of work that goes into an actual film, and how important the planning is. Also people have helped me a lot along the way with how they have said their opinions and and what they have told me do to and not to do, i really took both of them on board and thats half the reaon my trailer has actually come out pretty good! From doing this task i have taken a lot away from it and i have understood what things in the film industry are about now, when before i didnt really understand that well, but i now do. I have taken a lot of experience away from this and i would love to write them all down but i think there will be a bit too much for me to write, but here are a few : Filming, planning, drawing ideas, editing, and many more.

First poster Idea:
I do really like this first idea, because people are wondering why its got a picture of a barn on the front but its then called a "Children's Picnic" , i like this because its then making the audience think what is going to happened? what is in side the barn that they dont want to see ? And i think that its good that i have built up the suspense of the film trailer. I decided to use writing that sort of looks like its blood is running from the writing, becuase it is a thriller trailer and i wanted it too look spooky and scary i think that this writing is working well with the whole background etc. I have put the "Childrens Picnic" at the top of the page, and then i have put a another sentence saying "Run but dont look back" I have put this at the bottom, im not too sure if this works that well because i dont know if its a bit all over the place, but apart from that i am pleased with my first idea.
Target Audience:
Because its a thriller film, i thought that it would be sutable to have the age range to 18+ because i dont know if it would really be that suitable for a 15. Also nowadays the age is 18 because they think that that is a right age to have it aimed at.
I also did some research on the internet and the most films like ones like these are usually aged from 18+.

Below you can see that i used some props for my Media thriller trailer, as you can see i used a picnic blanket, then i have got some plates, bowls and other things etc... I thought that it would look good tohave them in the film because its just bringing something else to the whole image, even if their not touching it. I was also goingto use a ribon, and use it as a trade mark and you would see it everywher ein the trailer, but i thought that it might be a bit too much having that as well as music, voice over and then othe things, so i just decided to stick with the othe props i have. I was also going to have all of thegils holding a teddy each and then , as they die the teddy would get ripped up in bits and scattered eveywhee, but i thought against it, mostly becuase of the same reasons i didnt use the ribon. Im happy with my pops, i think i have got a good match and i have got just the right amount, not too much and not too little.

Storyboards:
Below you can see that i have done a lot of planning for my thriller trailer film, because at first i didnt reall have any idea what type of film i was going to do, becuase i had so many ideas i thought that if i write them all down in the stroy boards then i can chose the one that i want to be the one that i can use, because when i wrote it all down i looked at all of them and all of my ideas came to one big idea, so i was really pleased with that, the story boards helped me alot with the planning of my thriller trailer, because eveytime i had a idea just noted it down and then i placed it in to a story board, i also had a big book of things that i kept in there and that also helpd me collect different things for my media thriller trialer.

Here i have got some more story boards, and also i have got a page on what things scare you, this is just showing that i am actually doing planning and i havedone planning towards my media thriller trailer. again the story board is very basic and very simple, i have only drawn a few pictures, but the writing underneath helpes alot with what it is all about.

Here i have got some locations, i have taken a few photos of them as you can see.The first two photos are of a filed next door to my house which i have permission from the owners, to go and take some photos for my media work, i do really like this setting and i think it will be a real great place for my thriller trailer to take place because its got not much around it that distracts peoples eyes, its just a plan filed with a old barn in which i absolutely love and i feel that it defiantly gives it the feeling of thriller when i look at the photo and see the barn in the photo too.
The other last two photos are just some places in my garden that i thought looked like a reasonable place to take my media video because they have a lot of space and they are very old fashioned like the places in my garden i chose. But i was then thinking that my film trailer is a thriller one and these places in my garden are really not very thriller like because they grass is all cute neatly the trees have got flowers growing and the place just looks too welcoming, because i don't want mine to look like that i want mine to look more creepy and more scary.
As you can see i have uploaded some photos of some clothes, the reasoning for the type of clothing i have chosen is because i am doing a film that needs old fashioned clothing in it, so you can see i have got a few long dresses which are long and puffy which shows they are girly girls, and i have even got some cardigans which are knitted and baggy and look very old fashioned like. I have also got some accessories and i have chosen, 2 flower grips, a white head band with a bow, a pearl necklace and other things, i wanted to use girly accessories because they are old fashioned i thought that these represented them well.
After looking up some teaser trailers, it has really helped come to some ideas to help me with mine.
Teaser trailer : They are often very shot in length, between 30-60 seconds and usually contain little if any actually footage of the film. Sometimes, it is merely a truncated version of a theatrical trailer. They are usually released long in advanced of the film they advertise. One of the reasons for the name 'teaser' is because they are shown usually a long time before the movie comes out, so as to 'tease' the audience.
Teasers are also commonly used in advertising, the so called teaser ad/campaign consists typiically in small, cryptic, challenging, advertisements which anticipates a larger, full blown campaign for a product launch or otherwise important event.
Teaser trailers are usually only made for big budget films. their purpose is less to tell the audience about a movies content then simply to let them know what the movie is coming up in the near future. and to add to the hype of the upcoming release. teaser trailers are often made whule the film is still in production or being edited and as a result they may feature scenes or alternative versions of scenes that are not finished in the film.
Because i have have chose to do a thriller trailer, i need to follow some of the conventions, such as :
- Little information about the storyline.
- Include dark screens with flashing.
- Good sound effects.
- Lots of fast cuts and transitions .

When a Stranger Calls:
This is a film made in 2006, it is a remake of the 1979 horror film of the same name. in the film, babysitter jill Johnson (Camilla Belle) receives increasingly threatening calls from a brutal serial killer who she first assumes is simply a juvenile prankster.
I have looked up the plot from wiki on google, and i have just taken a few bits from it to give you an idea of what it is about.
When Jill Johnson goes over her phone limits her father makes her pay by babysitting. Jill starts getting anonymous phones calls, and at first she just thought it was a joke. Her friend Tiffany comes to visits her and says that the garage door was open, nervously jill runs out and shuts it. When Tiffany leaves the house she has trouble starting her car but it starts after a few trys. Tiffany then sees that the gates are stick by branches, she goes to move them when an unseen figure approaches her from behind.
The caller calls again, nervously she then calls the police, they tell her to call if he rings again. After a while the man calls again and asks if she's checked on the children, she then suddenly runs up to them and checks on them but they are fine sleeping. When he comes back downstairs he calls again and she then realises that he is watching her.
Jill sees a light on in the guess house and runs over to investigate but no was is home. the person calls again but she notices he called the wrong line and she sees a light on in the children's rooms. she runs back.
The man calls again, jill asks what he wants and he replies 'your bloody all over me'. the police call her and warn her the calls are coming from inside the house. Tiffany phone rings but when Jill turns around she sees her friend dead. the killer chases her through the house and attacks her.
Afterwards Jill wake sup in hospital alone and the phone rings when she walks back into the room and she sees the killer in the mirror. But the audience find out that she was dreaming and has developed psychological problems from the attack.
I have watched the film myself and this film is very heart stopping , you are constantly on the tips of your seat waiting for something else to make you jump, i was very scared when i watched this, but i carried on watching it because it interested me and made me want to keep watching to see what happen because it was that catching.
Saw 6 the trailer:
Saw VI is a 2009 horror film and sequel to Saw V. It was directed by Kevin Greuert and written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, and produced by Mark Burg and Oren Koules. It is the sixth instalment of the Saw film series.
Saw VI includes the second triology of the series that focused on the posthumous effects of the jigsaw killer and the progression of this successor, Mark Hoffman. In the film, Hoffman sets up a new trap for an insurance executive, William Easton while the FBI trails the last living jigsaw accomplice suspect, Peter Strahm.
Saw 6 was the first film to receive a 'Pelicula X' rating in Spain for the violence, restricting screenings to eight select theatres in that country. The film was released on October 23rd, 2009, in North America , which followed the tradition of being released the Friday before Halloween.
I myself have watched this trailer, and it was very disturbing and scary to watch, so no wounder some countries have stopped it being viewed, even thought it was very graphic and disgusting i still found myself watching it because it was very eye catching, and it left me thinking that i do actually want to watch this film because i want to see what happens in it. I am now going to try and get my film trailer to be very catchy and eye catchy so people will think the same about this film trailer, because for the while of the few minutes i was watching it, i couldn't really take my eyes off it, only when i saw bits that i thought was gross and didn't want to watch, but part from that i was glued to the computer screen.

I handed by questionnaire around to about 15 people, there was a mixture of girls and boys that answered because females and males have different opinions!
Here are my results of my questionnaire:
For my question one answer, because most of my participants were female, this show that the film should be based more on female genre, which is good because most of my actors are female, apart from two male actors. for my question to answer, most of the people who did my questionnaire ranged from the 15-18 mark, which i was currently going for my film to be based for the younger generation. I also asked a question what kinda of Thrillers do you like to watch, and most of my participants prefer thrillers, which is good because my film is just based basically all on thriller.
For my question 4 i asked how many movies do you watch a month? Most of my participants are not really movie lovers, because they only watch 1-3 movies in a month, so i am going to make my film very rememberable so viewers would want to watch it over and over again.
For my question 5 i asked what do you expect to see when watching a thriller and most of my participants said that these things happen in typical thriller films, but i will make sure that we will make our own twists and turns in our movie and make it not like typical thriller!
From all of my questionnaire results for question 6 most of them said that they would prefer to be a cliff hanger at the end of thriller, this is defiantly what i am going to do, i was going to do it anyway because i think if people see a cliff hanger then they want to watch the film more to see what happens.

The Hills Have Eyes (2006)
Here i have got a poster of the film The Hills Have Eyes, i chose this poster to analyise because its a very well known film and people know it alot.
As you can from the poster the film looks very disturbing and disgusting, the main figure on the poster is a picture of the back of a head of a women but the main focus is the bloody hand that is holding the head in its hands, its cover in blood the finger nails are all coverd in blood and look like there about to fall off, this is now drawing the audience in because they are now thinking why is the persons hand coverd in blood and holiding her head, so it makes you want to pick it up and watch it to find out what is going on.
But there is one thing that is making me look more deeper into the film, if you look very closely to the right of the poster there is a vage face appearing of a man or wonmen im not to sure looking very angry and very unwelcoming to be honest, this also catches the audinces eye, because when i was looking i didnt actually notice this face at first, but when i did it kind of made me jump and like oh gosh, and made me want to actually watch it and see what happens in it.
There isnt that much colour in this poster, the most colour that stands out is the title of the film which is in a deep red, which represents blood danger death. Aslo it says at the bottom of the poster 'The lucky ones die first' this shows that it really isnt a welcoming film at all, because they are saying your lucky if you die first, but i thought that would be your unlucky if you die first?!.

The Last House on The Left. (2009)
All the posters that i have put together are all Thriller ones, as you can see they all follow the same pattern, dark colours, shadows, blood ect.
All of the posters are different in many ways but they use colours that represent the mood in the photo, you dont usually see alot of bright colours, they usually use alot of dark and gloomy colours, for example alot of black is used which is describing mystery. Each poster focuses on the main character or characters in the poster, they are either a very close up shot or a long shot of the characters or character, they are either close up or long shot because they either want to show their emotion in their body language in their facial expression.
Here i have got a poster from the film The Last House On The Left, as you can see you immediately get scared because of how creepy looking it is. The red text on the word house and the splattered red blood marks around it in the colour red surely suggests danger, bloody and death, the contrast of the black and red is symbolic as these two colours of course symbolise danger and death which you can see looking from at the poster. The picture of the house looks very creepy and has a slight vibe that makes you not want to go near it, and because of the colours it comes across very cold and unwelcoming, the text at the bottom of the poster saying ‘ If bad people hurt the one you love, how far would you go to hurt them back?’ this certainly shocks and scares the audience as you now know that something bad will happen in this film and the family will seek revenge.
Black is the main feature in this poster and there is alot of shadowing and this is classifying that something bad is going to happen.

Thriller PostersHere i have just looked on google images and i have found some Thriller posters, i chose theres ones because theres are the ones that dragged me in and caught my eye, especially the one called *Quarantine* this film looks absoloutly horrible, just the whole of the front poster is filled with a womens face screaming! This one is very eye catching to me.
Also the one called *Orphan* This is very spooky and werid i think is a word i will use because it is just a girl covering the whole front area of the poster staring into the camera, but i think this makes you look mor einto it, because it certainly did with me.
This image here is my brianstorm of all of ideas for my film trailer.
I have focoused on 7 areas to help me get more ideas for film trailer, i have looked at Actors, Locations, Genre, Lighting. Sound, Poster and Magazine front covers!
I looked at these because i thought that those are the most important things i need to think about when finally doing my film trailer. I like were i have thought of the locations becuase for my film that will be the most important place becuase its outside alot so i thought carefully where abouts i could think of doing my film trailer.

These are for magazine front covers of four differnt films as you can see.
They are for different films all represented in a very different ways, this shows how the films are shown and how they sell them by the way that they are featuring them on the magazine front covers.
For example - Twilight is on the front cover of entertainment which of course is a very well known film that alot of people do love. As you can see its a very bold figure and very clear, both got very strong eye contact and looking straight into the audiences eyes which can draw people in more, its a very well used photo becuase its grabbing the auidences attention.
Three out of four of these magazines have the main image of the film placed over part of the magazines front cover title, this is showing people that the films can have part of the title coverd up and people will still know what magazine it is. Unlike the magazine 'filmstar' this magazine isnt as well known as the rest of the magazines so it feels like it should have the title shown out there without the main imaged covering it up.
